How to Draw a Flower (Simple Steps)
Our three pages of flower drawing steps are super easy to follow, and so much fun too! You will soon be drawing flowers – grab your pencil and let's get started:
Step 1
Let's start! First draw a triangle pointing down! The flat side should be on top.
Step 2
Now you will add 3 circles on top of the triangle. The middle circle should be bigger. Erase the extra lines.
Step 3
Look! You have 1 petal. Now you will repeat steps 1 through 2 to make 4 more petals. Keep making them until you have a circle.
Step 4
Let's add some details to the petals. Draw circles on the petals and then erase the extra lines.
Step 5
Now you're going to add a circle in the middle.
Step 6
Nice! The flower is coming together. It is time to add details now.
Step 7
Now add a stem! Every flower needs a stem!
Step 8
Add a leaf to the stem. If you want you can even add a leaf on the other side. It's your flower!
Step 9
Great job! You can add more details to make different flowers. Get creative!
Easy Flower Drawing for Beginners
We made sure this how to draw a flower tutorial is easy enough that even the most inexperienced and youngest kids can have fun making art for themselves. If you can draw a straight line and simple shapes, you can draw a flower…and that line doesn't even have to be that straight {giggle}.

How do you draw a camellia?
This basic flower shape is suited as a camellia drawing. You can make slight detail alterations to make a customized flower drawing:
- Simple flowered Camellia – draw loose big serrated edge petals and a detailed and flowing yellow stamens
- Double-flowered Camellia – draw tighter, more uniform, layered petals with a dense bouquet of yellow stamens
- Double-flowered hybrid Camellia like Jury's Yellow Camellia – The bottom of the flower looks like a simple flowered camellia with flowing large and seemingly random loose petals with bunched petals getting smaller and smaller to the middle without an obvious stamen
